Day 1 - Nairobi
Welcome to Nairobi! You will be met at the airport on your arrival by a Big Safari Company representative and then it is a short transfer to your modern hotel on the outskirts of the city.

Day 2 - Laikipia
After breakfast there’s a short transfer to Wilson Airport for the flight to Nanyuki. With luck you will have stunning views of majestic Mt Kenya! Then there’s a two hour drive to Tumaren Ranch through some beautiful wild country.

Day 3 - Laikipia
Karisia's Tumaren Camp is all about exciting activities. There are day and night game drives to spot the abundance of wildlife here including lion, leopard, buffalo and elephant. In addition, there are daily walking safaris, camel treks, horse riding, picnics, rock climbing, bouldering and bird watching. You can go quad biking or even river swimming, as there are no crocodiles or hippo in the waters here!

Day 4 - Laikipia
As well as the dramatic scenery and the proliferation of wildlife, this is a safari destination with an added bonus. It is close to a working community so you will get the opportunity to interact with local people and see them going about their daily lives. As part of our itinerary we have arranged cultural activities such as visits to local Manyatta (villages) and markets and you can even try honey collecting!

Day 5 - Mugie Wildlife Conservancy
Check out after breakfast and drive from Tumaren Ranch to Mugie Conservancy and Ranch. The eco-friendly camp fuses luxury with sustainability and blends into the environment in this beautiful, unspoilt part of Kenya. Fringing the northwestern edge of Kenya’s Laikipia plateau, the Mugie Conservancy features over 200 square kilometres of scenic landscape. Almost half the conservancy falls within the Mugie Sanctuary which is home to an abundance of elephants, Grevy’s zebras, big cats, and endangered Jackson’s hartebeests.

Day 6 - Mugie Wildlife Conservancy
Your days on safari can be spent as you wish and your driver/guide will discuss each day with you as you go along. Normally, it’s an early game drive, returning to the lodge for breakfast and time to relax in the middle of the day. Mid afternoon you’ll usually head out on another game drive before heading back to the camp for a sundowner drink and dinner.

Day 7 - Mugie Wildlife Conservancy
This fabulous camp has so much to do. There are thrilling day and night game drives, guided walking tours, and ranch activities such as kayaking, fishing and camel rides and also a demonstration with bloodhounds! You will learn about the conservation efforts of the conservancy, as well as undertaking fascinating community visits to Mugie School, clinic and livestock office.

Day 8 - Masai Mara
Check out after breakfast and transfer to Loisaba airstrip for the daily scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. The flight route passes over the Great Rift Valley and on a clear day it's possible to see the famous soda water lakes. A guide will meet you on arrival and transfer you by 4x4 safari vehicle to Speke's Camp, which has easy access to the best gaming areas in the reserve, including Rhino Ridge, Musiara Swamp and Paradise Plains

Day 9 - Masai Mara
The Masai Mara (together with Tanzania’s Serengeti) forms Africa’s most famous wildlife area. The iconic landscape consists of endless grass plains and acacia trees. You will also probably see the colourful Masai communities whom the game reserve is named after.
You will have exclusive use of a safari vehicle for your game drives.

Day 10 - Masai Mara
The Masai Mara is all about wildlife viewing. There are elephants, lions, cheetah, hippo, giraffe, topi and vast herds of wildebeest and zebra (especially during the migration season) which live on the open savannah grasslands and riverine forests.

Day 11 - Nairobi and home
Early morning game drive before breakfast. Transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled flight to Nairobi. You will be met on arrival at Wilson Airport and transferred to the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
